Crimson and White Roundtable: Duke Editions

Here are my answers for this week’s C & W Roundtable. Tide is going to the Dookeys!
1. What is the most important thing we learned in the wake of the
Penn State game?
I’ve been skeptical that Alabama was gonna be an offensive team, but, damn, Linebacker U could not tackle the Tide’s backup tailback. The offense really is the strength of this team, and with this young defence, it’ll get exciting at some point. It’s hard not to be a believer in this offense, whiskey shots for everyone!
2. What is the biggest area of concern given the upcoming contest
with Duke?
Would like to see improvement in the ‘lets not wait till the end zone to stop them’ department. If it takes redzone turnovers to stop Dukes early drives, we’ll be in for a long game against Arkansas. And of course, any key injuries against an overmatched opponent like this will really sting like 1000 rusty spoons in my eye.
3. How much will the return of Marcel Dareus and (possibly) Mark
Ingram affect the team’s strategy?
This ties into the book I’m reading by Sun Tzu, it’s called “Beat they ass early enough to get the starters out of there and don’t get hurt”. I’m sure they’ll hold back a few plays and formations, but we should see if those dudes are ready pretty early.
4. What part of the gameday experience are you most looking forward
to on Saturday?
These last two game weekends have left me battered and bruised. Looking forward to watching a snoozer, watching some other snoozers, and having a weekend with no game insanity. Maybe go to Home Depot and get some wood and build a tiny version of Bryant Denny in my back yard.
